What is Doula care?
A role of doula is to provide physical, emotional, and informational support to a birthing person and their families throughout pregnancy, labor/birth, and the postpartum period.

I have a supportive partner, would I still benefit from a Doula?
Absolutely! My role as your Doula is not meant to overshadow anyone who is a member of your support team, but rather give you AND them the support they need.

Is a Doula like a Midwife?
The roles and responsibilities of Doulas and Midwives are very different. Midwives are responsible for all of the medical/clinical aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. Doulas are NOT medically trained professionals who are licensed to provide medical care.

Is a Doula better for home birth or hospital birth?
Having the support of a Doula is beneficial in any setting you hope to give birth in! Whether that is at home, at a hospital, or at a birth center; unmedicated, medicated, or in a tub - the support and presence of a Doula will be beneficial in any setting you’re in.

What if I cannot afford a Doula?
You are deserving of Doula support regardless of your financial situation, so please do still reach out!
